SUTTON
SEVERANCE
ABOUT SUTTONMy name is Sutton Severance, and I am a photographer who enjoys capturing everyday environments and moments that people might normally overlook. I’m especially drawn to photographing places like markets, parks, streets, and city spaces where there is a mix of people, color, and natural light.
This photography portfolio explores the use of shapes, colors, and lighting to capture everyday environments and people. Many of the images were taken outdoors at places like farmers’ markets, parks, and city streets, where natural light and vibrant colors create interesting scenes. I am especially drawn to photographing landscapes and environments that contain repeating shapes, strong color contrast, and natural textures.
The portfolio also includes portraits taken in natural settings, including photos of my boyfriend, where lighting and background elements help create a relaxed and candid feeling. By focusing on composition, color, and light, these photographs highlight how ordinary locations and moments can become visually interesting.
